Our History – Nap Industrial Group

When Robert Napieralski (Bob) bought a company called ICS in 2008, he saw potential for a business opportunity but, more importantly, he saw a way to create much needed jobs in the USA during a crippling economic recession. Bob retired from a successful forms and software business he founded in 1974, and sold that company as an ESOP which, in turn, made all the employees the new owners.

When that was completed, Bob felt compelled to do something about the economic situation he saw unfolding. There was an opportunity to purchase a company in California, Inventory Control Systems (ICS), which sold auto dealer supplies. He moved the company to Belmont Michigan, near his hometown and changed the name to Nap’s Dealer Supplies.

The Opportunity to Serve our Customers

One product that was acquired through ICS, was a round brass tag sold in packs of 25. Bob saw a business opportunity unfold as multiple customers would contact Nap’s and request customization of these tags. Auto dealers and service centers needed them engraved with numbers or the business name and phone number. At that time Nap’s had no way to provide this service.

NapTags.com is Created

So, Nap’s Dealer Supplies purchased a table top engraving machine to help meet the needs of their customers and started advertising the product to new industries. Those little engraved tags turned out to fill a big market gap. A large variety of industries needed them! So, NapTags.com was created to focus on this market.

Nap’s next recognized the need to custom cut sheets of metal or plastic to meet the vast variety of requests for special shapes, sizes and thicknesses. Nap’s product line then expanded with the purchase of new equipment and now Nap’s has the capability to cut metal up to .125” thick to any shape and size tag, plate or sign.

Nap’s has evolved and gone beyond engraving and now offers full color UV and sublimation printing, Aluma-Tough (Metal-Photo) processing, Vinyl printing and lamination and many other finishing options.

It turns out there are endless products that can be created with engraving, printing and cutting equipment. Using a variety of metals and plastics including stainless steel, enameled aluminum, anodized aluminum, copper, plastic and brass, Nap’s began creating tags, nameplates and signs to meet the needs of businesses across the country.

The Evolution of NapNameplates.com

With the popularity of the office signage and name badge products, NapNameplates.com was created as a marketplace for customers to purchase quality office signage including a line of Over-The-Cube products. These products simplify signage and dry erase boards, among other products, that conveniently slide over the top of a cubicle wall. Along with these office products, Nap’s began UV printing ADA compliant signs with braille.

NapADASigns.com was the Next Step

With the addition of UV Printing, Nap’s acquired the ability to offer signage that is ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant. The next step for online shopping became NapADASigns.com, offering signage with raised tactile lettering and braille. Nap’s offers a full line of stock or custom ADA compliant signs to meet building requirements. From simple restroom or exit signs to custom created ADA signs that are truly a work of art. Nap’s has ADA compliant signs to meet any budget or compliment corporate branding.

Always Growing and Evolving – A Brand Name To Tie It All Together

In 2018 Nap’s built a new facility in Rockford, Michigan. The increased space has allowed Nap’s to expand their product line and branch into new markets.  In 2021 Nap’s took on a Re-branding campaign to tie all the individual brands into one family brand – Nap Industrial Group.  A newly designed Nap Industrial Group website was creates to allow customers one landing sire that branches out for them to shop all the individual brands.  Due to the variety of products offered through each website, many customers find themselves ordering from across all the brands to find solutions for all their tag, signage and identification product needs.

The Opportunity to Help People

All of the products produced by Nap’s requires people to make it happen. That was one of Bob’s primary goals in starting Nap’s Dealer Supplies in 2008. Since then, Nap Industrial Group has continued to grow and add employees who find it to be rewarding and positive place to work.  Everyone at Nap’s thanks you for your business! We promise to do our best every day to create quality products at affordable prices.
